Members Responsibilities

Meetings

  • League Meetings are the first Tuesday of the month from September to April, except for December and January
  • September, October, November, February, March, April
  • 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
  • May is our Year-End Dinner Meeting
  • Provisionals Meetings are the second Tuesday of the month.  These are three extra meetings to learn about league and a February dinner to celebrate completion
  • September, October, November
  • 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
  • February Dinner Meeting – informal quiz
  • Excused absences:  death, religious observation, maternity leave
  • We’re required to attend 4 out of 6 meetings per year (We’re allotted two unexcused absences)
  • Fine:  $10- or 1-hour community service per unexcused missed meeting


Projects

  • Projects begin next year, your first active year
  • Will be approximately 12-15 hours of service 
  • You will choose a project in the spring to start next year. You could also eventually serve 2 years as a project chair or a board position
  • Fine:  $10 per uncompleted hour


Community Service

  • Two hours per year for provisional and active members, anytime from August 1st and July 31st
  • Community Service Chair (qslcommservice@gmail.com) will notify us of a variety of opportunities on our Signup Genius page
  • Contact the organization you are helping to sign up with them, then let the Community Service Coordinator know when and how many hours you did
  • Community Impact Days are a group effort (sustainers included) where we all service together (these are optional)
  • Fine:  $10 per uncompleted hour


Dues

  • $60 annually. Dues cover operating expenses. 
  • Paid by October 15th 
  • PayPal, Checks and Cash accepted
  • Dues go to Member Coordinator (qslmembercoordinator@gmail.com)
  • Operating expenses:  accounting, taxes, insurance, PO box, postage, storage facility, banking, sustainer social, spouse social, dinner meeting, sustainer gifts, sustainer funeral flowers


Holiday Gift Show

  • Provisionals help the Gift Show committee by distributing posters around town
  • Each member sells 10 tickets at $3 a piece
  • Bake desserts
  • 2 cakes
  • You can arrange to have someone else make them for you such as Underbrink’s
  • Recipes available in Members Only section on our website and in the cookbook
  • Work at the Holiday Gift Show
  • 6 Hours
  • Always the weekend before Thanksgiving
  • It’s actually a lot of fun and where you really meet other members
  • Fine:  $10- or 1-hour community service per hour missed, $20 per dessert


Community Donations

  • Board will vote on donation event and will likely change from year to year.
  • Members can give any amount they wish. 


Social 

  • The Social Committee will let us know of any planned activities.  We try to have one fun event a month.
  • Fall BBQ, Plus-One Social & Galentines Day events are some events we have


Fines

  • Where does this money go?
  • Project Expenses, Grants, Scholarships, Special Needs Fund 


Senior Active and Sustainer

  • After 10 years of active service, each member has a choice to continue in League as a Senior Active or go Sustainer
  • Dues:
  • Sustainer Dues:  $100 paid at once or can pay increments over the years
  • Senior Actives pay regular member dues. 
  • 1 year only Senior Active will then pay only a $40 Sustainer due. 
  • Sustainers have Gift Show responsibilities for first only 2 years of sustainer status
